Saturday

We tried to take Mark camping for his first time last night. He cried all night. He hates camping. He doesn't want to sleep at night and when he does he kicks daddy a lot. Mark woke up three times in the night. Then finally at 5:30 a.m. we gave up. I found a tick on her leg later that morning. Maybe we will wait until Mark is Danielle's age.

Now that I think of it Mark isn't that good with feeding himself.
For example, Mark doesn't understand when his mouth is full. He crams as much food in there as he can. Since he doesn't use his fingers yet he is ramming fists full of food into his mouth. then he chokes a little. he likes putting food in his chair for later or putting it on the floor. feeding Austin is funny after all. So if I want him to feed himself I can only give him enough to fill up his greedy little baby mouth. Then wait for him to eat it and give him more.
That's a little involved- it takes longer than feeding him rice cereal.

Friday- Infant Lead Weaning

My mom tells me she likes to feed me with a spoon, but also likes taking care of himself. I like to be able to feed myself and she gives me rice and small food bits so I can eat them. Also I get to hold bread and bagels and bite pieces off. She likes to give me food in my high chair while everyone else eats meals. I like eating rice cereal and other pureed foods. At first mom pureed whatever we were eating and fed it to me. Now I am getting better at eating and I want to use my hands to do it myself.
Mark is our first baby that let us feed him. He used to smack his mouth together to ask for cereal after breastfeeding. Our daughter never let us feed her so we just let her feed herself. She is pretty good at feeding herself. Marks seemed to enjoy being fed and still wants it sometimes but I am gradually switching back to him feeding himself. I think infant led weaning is fantastic, and sometimes i miss doing it completely. I feel like Danielle was less likely to choke. Mark is doing good with the finger foods and loves rice and strawberries most of all.

Thursday

Today I had a friend come over and play. Her name is Abby. I also got to eat goldfish. Mommy doesn't give my goldfish very often. But she does give me lots of food that I like. My favorite food is butternut squash. It is yummy.

Wednesday what I ate

Today I sat in my chair and mommy made me some food. I got to eat Strawberries. I also went to the doctor. They told me I have strabismus. My mom just thought I was a little cross eyed. I am going to another doctor to check it out. I guess it isn't that bad. I got shots today. I hate shots. daddy help me after that and I calmed down. Then I fell asleep for three hours. Getting shots makes me tired.

Today is the first day of June. It is really hot outside. and I can't sleep if it is too hot. I hate it when it's too hot. I follow Austin the dog around and crawl on his face. He is nice to me.

Sunday

We drove back home on Sunday. Then I slept for about ten hours. Mom gave Danielle cheetos in the car and she snuck some to me. It was so funny to eat cheetos. I love getting dirty. Mom told Danielle if she did it again she wouldn't get special cheetos for the car trip. I slept most of the time and then mommy fed me. I will miss the cousins. they played with me. They let me climb on the pillows on the floor. and fed me yummy food.
